What We Do

Dance Currents continues the original impetus of Contemporary Dance by exploring, expressing and enlarging the mystery and power of human nature through dance and music performances, educational programs and curriculum development, collaborations with other artists, and fundraising for non-profits.  

• Preserves the role of historical work in the dance lexicon.
• Presents the art of dance as vital to the health and culture of a thriving community.
• Collaborates with artists of diverse disciplines in order to to expand the boundaries of art and appeal to the broader community.
• Participates in fundraising events for the benefit of the larger, non-profit community.

VISION STATEMENT

As human beings we all seek "truth" in some measure.  The dance requires us to incorporate it.  Our practice involves the humility of experimentation and the work of the imagination.  The result, for dancers and audiences alike, is a deeper awareness of ourselves and our common humanity.
